Gas Cut-off in Slavutych: The City Avoided Freezing Owing to the Biofuel Boiler Plant
The Group of Companies Ukrteplo owns a boiler plant with a capacity of 10,5 MW. The facility meets 40 per cent of the city`s heat energy and hot water needs. It primarily provides kindergartens, schools, medical centers and other social facilities.

The boiler plant meets 40 percent of the city`s heat energy and hot water needs. Due to the use of renewable energy sources, the city of Slavutych will be capable to save at least 4 million hryvnias during the next heating season. It is also expected to reduce natural gas consumption by 7 million cubic meters.
A Biogas Station Launched in Rivne Landfill
The new facility will produce electricity and will help to prevent fires like the one that happened in the landfill near Lviv last year.
One of the leaders of Ukrainian renewable energy, the Group of Companies Ukrteplo, has completed the project of construction of the first biogas station. The cost of construction is 20 million hryvnas.
Biofuel instead of Gas: Ukrteplo Produced 130 Thousand Gcal of Heat from Renewable Sources and Saved over 16 MCM of Blue Fuel
The Group of Companies Ukrteplo is expanding its own network of biofuel boiler plants and increasing production of heat energy from renewable sources.
As of the heating season of 2016-2017, Ukrteplo has produced 130 thousand Gcal of heat. One would need over 16 million cubic meters of gas to produce such amount of energy; however, we used biofuels (pellets, briquettes, wood) instead of gas. As a result, we have managed to reduce consumption of blue fuel in Ukraine by this quantity.

The Group of Companies Ukrteplo has its own Centre of Energy Willow Planting – the modern innovative space for energy plant cultivation. The Center occupies the square of 600 ha in the territory of Ivankivsky district of Kyiv region.
Ukrteplo plans to invest 2,5 billion hryvnas in the bio-CHP and the ethanol production plant in Odesa region
The Group of Companies Ukrteplo which runs the country`s largest network of biofuel boiler plants, expects to build a 12 MW CHP in Odesa region that will operate on agricultural wastes, as well as a bioethanol production plant.
Ukrteplo Has Expanded Its Own Plantations of Energy Willow – in the First Six Months the Planted Area Increased by 29 Hectares
In particular, we have cultivated 12 hectares in Zhytomyr region, near the future bio-CHP. In addition, we have increased the area of queen cell in Kyiv region by 14 hectares. We have planted 3 hectares of energy willow for industrial use in the same place in Kyiv region as well.
